My take on dementia, none of us know what life has in store.
lyrics
Victoria’s having another Birthday
She walks all alone on the beach by the sea
Another year gone, she’s just turned sixty one
In her mind she is still twenty three
Getting older each year on the outside
But inside things she’s not aged one day
And those weakening eyes, her deep feelings disguise
Though they can no longer see, things they don’t want to see
Those eyes beguile
Her hair blows free in the North Eastern wind
And it’s soaked by the rain and the sea spray
And those locks that once were golden brown
Are now speckled with silver and grey
We met on this beach when she was twenty two
By twenty three she was my wife
And those eyes shone bright with love
Till Victoria moved out of my life
She moved out though I'm still by her side
Like the tide on our beach, She’s sometimes out of reach
But some days she’s still my young bride
You won’t see Victoria on this beach again
Nor trail her footprints on the sand by the bay
Her face now composed those eyes are fast closed,
Those eyes that just can’t see
Those eyes that just won’t see another Birthday
Those eyes that beguiled me just drifted away
Victoria won’t be here for here birthday
