Martin Had a Dream In 1963 Martin had a dream, Would he be content in 2017? He dreamed about a much fairer place With equality for the whole human race I share Martin’s dream If Martin Luther King were alive today Would he think sexism was still okay He’d still take care of the old and sick And he’d knock down that wall, brick by brick For Martin had a dream He didn’t pretend Latinos are rapists Or say Muslim men are all terrorists Would he believe refugees should be banned Every case would be judged human Yes Martin had a dream Back in ‘63, Martin had a dream He would be ashamed of 2017. So lets make this world a much fairer place With equality for the whole human race Let’s share Martin’s dream

The Grey Cloaked Assassin Still as a statue knee deep in cold water The murderer with the cold staring eyes Motionless soundless the grey cloaked assassin Patiently waits for his victim to rise What right do I have to be in your dominion Trespassing this killing zone every day You mean me no harm but I cannot ignore you When I try to get close you just drift away Lurking in the shade Waiting for a kill Needing to survive The silver backed salmon are swimming upriver They return here to spawn so their species can thrive Both killer and victim are programmed by nature And one has to die so the other survives Still as a statue knee deep in cold waters Stands the grey heron with cold staring eyes Motionless soundless that grey cloaked assassin Patiently waits for the salmon to rise

Waiting for the Money to Roll In This month I became a real songwriter So I jacked my job and given up workin' I've now written a few songs Which tried to right some wrongs Now I'm waiting for the money to roll in I wrote some songs about love, lust, and passion I bared my soul to everyone list'nin' Though I performed nationwide To get the Public on my side I'm still waiting for the money to roll in I'm waiting for the money to roll in And my life in the fast lane to begin So I'm waiting for the money to roll in Next I tried to utilise my sense of humour And I tried my very best to entertain I wrote lyrics bright and sunny That some people found quite funny But I'm waiting for the money to roll in I met a man who started writing in the fifties He began to write with skiffle and with swing Though he's played in lots of bands He still cannot understand Why he's waiting for the money to roll in I'm waiting for the money to roll in And my life in the fast lane to begin So I'm waiting for the money to roll in So today I bought a ticket for the lottery Ten million pounds tonight that I can win You may think that I'm naive But I really do believe That I'm waiting for the money to roll in I'm waiting for the money to roll in And my life in the fast lane to begin I'm waiting for the money to roll in

Those Eyes 04:42
Victoria’s having another Birthday She walks all alone on the beach by the sea Another year gone, she’s just turned sixty one In her mind she is still twenty three Getting older each year on the outside But inside things she’s not aged one day And those weakening eyes, her deep feelings disguise Though they can no longer see, things they don’t want to see Those eyes beguile Her hair blows free in the North Eastern wind And it’s soaked by the rain and the sea spray And those locks that once were golden brown Are now speckled with silver and grey We met on this beach when she was twenty two By twenty three she was my wife And those eyes shone bright with love Till Victoria moved out of my life She moved out though I'm still by her side Like the tide on our beach, She’s sometimes out of reach But some days she’s still my young bride You won’t see Victoria on this beach again Nor trail her footprints on the sand by the bay Her face now composed those eyes are fast closed, Those eyes that just can’t see Those eyes that just won’t see another Birthday Those eyes that beguiled me just drifted away Victoria won’t be here for here birthday

You've got savings to invest Looking for good interest He's a banker and he very seldom lies Your assets he'll write off Once his snout is in your trough Low returns but his commission rates are high If I could find some word that rhymes with banker This would be a very different song So far I only can come up with hanker But to hanker for a banker sounds so wrong They're the Bank that just says yes And en route to world success Step inside and get yourself a hefty loan Though their interest rates are high And they're out to bleed you dry When times get hard, they'll repossess your home He has got a smart sports car Drinks champagne, eats caviar Living tax free on your cash he sent offshore And the trophy wife he bought Looks good draped upon his yacht He has everything he needs but still wants more The financial market's in a rut And his bonuses has been cut And he needs our subsidy to ease his pain But don't expect any thanks For rescuing the banks Come the upturn, he will screw us all again If only I could find another rhyme..

In early spring, when blackbirds sing, fresh green leaves on the trees Day - break, I’m just awake, my first morning with you I was young, just twenty one, and you loved me too For springtime was our time when our love was brand new Summer’s hot sun, with youthful fun, our days were long and free Afternoon, in flaming June, and life was good for me In my prime, and you were mine, our daughter and our son For summer time was our time, with our love just begun Cometh the fall, we harvest all, trees turn red brown and gold Eventides, when light subsides, and autumn mists in the air Middle age, the mellow stage, blessed with grandchildren two For Autumn months were our months, our it love still shone through Frost’s bitter cold, cruel winter’s hold, ice, hail, sleet and snow, Every night, by warm fire light, content to be home alone Love will hold, as we grow old, time has slipped by so fast For winter nights were our nights, sheltered from the storm blast In clement climes, throughout hard times, from youth ‘til present day Everyday, and in everyway, I spent them all with you Every age, through every stage, you’ll never hear me complain If Father Time could retrace time, I’d search for your loving again And the seasons will go on………and on

It’s seven seconds to midnight and the world is at peace Most of America’s sleeping, apart from bad guys and police There’s a new man in the White House who says he’ll make us rich ‘Cause he’s big and strong, and he’s never been wrong, he’s a smooth talking son of a bitch As long as you’re white, you’ll be all right If you ain’t gay, you’ll be OK Donald Trump is your man, just ask the Klan. It’s five seconds to midnight and he’s abandoned Obama Care The rich need to pay less taxes, for it’s tough being a billionaire Never mind your pain and suffering, for Donald needs a brand new yacht You poor will get along, but you’re living far too long, so be happy with what you’ve got It’s three seconds to midnight and Donald’s ordering bricks He only needs 400 million for he’s building a wall in the sticks It’s to keep out the Latinos who’ll be happy to pick up the bill For they’re far too brown, to live in your town, and he swears that they never will It’s two seconds to midnight and Donald’s using the phone He’s calling North Korea and he’s asked to speak to Rocket Man They argued about who’s crazy, though it’s clear that their both to blame Then all of a sudden Donald pressed his red button, and Kim Jong did the same It’s one second to midnight, and I think I hear a sound…………….wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeee BANG

I Miss You 03:00
Its Friday night and I miss you It's getting late and I need to kiss you But I'm still here at work just trying to make ends meet Do you miss me? Like I'm missing you? I'm away all week, because I have to Leaving you although I love you We need more time alone and I need to get back home Do you need me? Like I'm needing you? But if you don't What would I do? With my empty heart Forever missing you You meet me at the door, and you're smiling My heart skips a beat, you're so beguiling When I take you in my arms, its like I've never been away Are you aching for me like I'm aching for you? I wish this weekend could last for ever We savour every hour we spend together You're my angel in daylight and a love goddess at night Loving me while I'm loving you Early Monday morning you're still sleeping You're smiling as you dream while I'm dressing I hate to leave again but there's always next weekend Do you want me to stay, Like I want to stay too Wishing I could stay at home with you

Those towering hills are calling me The need to be free So I’m climbing this mountain trail in the driving rain The trees dance wildly in the gale which shrieks like it’s in pain It blasts straight through, my body’s chilled In spite of all I feel fulfilled This wilderness beguiling me, The need to be free The climb is getting harder now cold rain turns into sleet Ice crystals on my frosted brow, I’ve reached four thousand feet Still trudging on, through drifted snow Two hundred steps at most to go It’s stubbornness sustaining me The need to be free I see the cairn, the summit nears the storm cloud’s nearly passed The wind abates and sun appears view snow topped hills at last Their beauty stuns, ‘ twas worth the pain The reason I’ll come back again Brief sovereignty over all I see The need to be free Free as that cold North East Wind

We've had good times, things were not so bad So baby why you making me sad I still love you, I'm thinking of you Honey I can't sleep nights ‘cause I am still besotted with you You broke my heart, you destroyed my life All I wanted was a faithful wife Someone to love me, devoted to me Baby though you left me I am still besotted with you I want you back, please come on home Sugar you shouldn’t need to roam Birds of a feather should be together I think you still need me and I am still besotted with you I’ll be all yours and you’ll be my sweetheart Nothing can be breaking us part As we live longer, our love grows stronger If love was eternal I’d always be besotted with you

I'm Sorry 02:45
You tell me that you're sorry for all that you have done And apologise for what you put me through Though you smile at me as if you mean it Its not the first time that I've seen it Believe me darling I am sorry too For I loved you more than words can tell But trust is gone, I'm living hell I can't forever be forgiving you There was a time when you could hurt me, that time is long gone I loved you then and you said you loved me too Now you say I'm still your one and only You went with him cause you were lonely Don't you think you left me lonely too Though you swore that we would never part You walked out on me and broke my heart I can't forever be forgiving you Let me tell you that I'm sorry, that I took you back last time And all the many times before you were untrue Like a cobra you entrance your quarry Your poison's slow but just as deadly I don't blame him he was your victim too Don't want you back not now not ever This is the end, goodbye forever I can't forever be forgiving you
13.
My darling Claire, you’re no longer here Although you’ve gone so far away I miss your laugh I miss your smile, I miss you more each passing day Though we are now so far apart You are always in my heart The only time I see your face is when I’m dreaming There was no time to say goodbye One moment here and then you’d gone Leaving me a vacant space My world now empty and forlorn I think about you every day And there is no other way I can get to see your smile except by dreaming Though I lie awake some nights Next day I still rise up at dawn Facing the world with actor’s smile Knowing that l must go on Life has no meaning without you For it has torn my heart in two To know I’ll only hear you laugh when I am dreaming My darling Claire you are still mine Though you’re in some far off land Since you were wrenched away from me For reasons I don’t understand Why you’ve gone I do not know And although I dearly love you so If I think you’ll come back home I’m only dreaming For I’ll never touch your hand except when dreaming The only time I’ll hold you close is when I’m dreaming For you were taken from this world while I was dreaming

Dark thoughts swirl around my mind, think I'm going insane To a life in the shadows condemned I dreamt of sunshine and flowers not anguish and pain The day you became my only friend I'm looking through my blue window There's only darkness in my room I'm craving for my next rainbow That ray of light that casts aside this gloom Life for me was rich, I had it all, but I still wanted more Thrills that were bigger and greater You promised excitement and serenity, from that same score Credit now but the your invoice came later Chorus You shattered my whole world, and took control of my mind Raised me up then crashed me down low, This suffering goes on and on, for every day I find, My need for you continues to grow Chorus I loathe you, you can't hold me, I have to break free Let me go! Yet I need you to stay For I know deep down inside, you're slowly killing me No tomorrow so I'll still love you today. Chorus Maybe today I'll be set free
