In early spring, when blackbirds sing, fresh green leaves on the trees
Day - break, I’m just awake, my first morning with you
I was young, just twenty one, and you loved me too
For springtime was our time when our love was brand new

Summer’s hot sun, with youthful fun, our days were long and free
Afternoon, in flaming June, and life was good for me
In my prime, and you were mine, our daughter and our son
For summer time was our time, with our love just begun

Cometh the fall, we harvest all, trees turn red brown and gold
Eventides, when light subsides, and autumn mists in the air
Middle age, the mellow stage, blessed with grandchildren two
For Autumn months were our months, our it love still shone through

Frost’s bitter cold, cruel winter’s hold, ice, hail, sleet and snow,
Every night, by warm fire light, content to be home alone
Love will hold, as we grow old, time has slipped by so fast
For winter nights were our nights, sheltered from the storm blast

In clement climes, throughout hard times, from youth ‘til present day
Everyday, and in everyway, I spent them all with you
Every age, through every stage, you’ll never hear me complain
If Father Time could retrace time, I’d search for your loving again
